I was born in 1958 in the „Pfalz“ which in the southwest of Germany. This is a very nice countryside, with weather conditions comparable with North Italy, with rolling hills full of vine yards, and a lot of other crops you would not expect in Germany.
However, after achieving my engineers graduation, I had only limited opportunities to find an appropriate work in my region.
Therefore I looked countrywide, and finally decided to go to Munich. After living several years in Munich city, we decided to move away. Today, me and my family are living in a village about 30 km south of Munich.
What you probably not expect, due to my physical body shape, is my relationship to sport. I like all kind of sport where endurance is asked, and which will hopefully cause a positive feedback on my metabolism. Jogging, cross country skiing and swimming was for a long time my favourites. Nowadays I do more cycling and regularly visiting a Gym, what is perfect given my weight and the age of my joints. A fwe yeary ago, I started with archery. A very nice hobby, but somewhat on the fringe, to be entitled as a sport.
By the way, there was another “famous” Michael Färber in History:
Michael Färber ( J.W. – Goethe`s Servant from 1814 – 1832)
Johann Michael Christoph Färber was born 25. Januar 1778 as a son of a weapon-smith in Jena and died 25. November 1844 likely on a insufficient heart condition at the place of his birth.
Färber was – promoted by Goethe – Großherzogl. Museum-Secretary in Jena, still serving Goethe and was finally getting the position of a Museumsinspektor. He was married and had a son.
